Media Prima Digital, the digital arm of Media Prima Berhad announced recently that its Tonton TV application is available on Samsung SMART TV. The Tonton TV application can now be downloaded from the Samsung Smart TV app store.
The partnership was officiated through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last September. Via the collaboration, viewers can now access catch-up TV service for content aired on Media Prima TV Networks channels, online portals and radio stations on Samsung Smart TV. This includes TV3, ntv7, 8TV, TV9, Gua TV, Fly TV, Hot TV, One TV, myMetroTV and many more.
The Tonton TV application also enables Samsung SMART TV users to access Tonton’s library and TV programmes- a wide selection of local, Asian and international content, from dramas to entertainment, films, music videos and news programming on-demand, including premium contents.
In conjunction with the launch, Tonton is offering selected popular dramas from Tonton Premium for free viewing until 31st August 2013. These include the top dramas of the year, Setia Hujung Nyawa, Dejavu di Kinabalu, Terlanjur Cinta and Love Compulsory (Season 1), Nur Kasih and more.
Additionally, Samsung Smart TV users will also be able to access Tonton’s TV Everywhere service through the application. Users are able watch all four TV channels – TV3, ntv7, 8TV, TV9 via “live streaming”.
