Huawei Malaysia has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Xiamen University Malaysia Campus to jointly plan and discuss developing a future-oriented ICT enabled campus in Malaysia.

The two parties are also aiming to establish a joint teaching lab in the Malaysia campus of Xiamen University to transfer Huawei’s latest ICT technologies the students.
The companies said the collaborations will create a competitive advantage for students of Xiamen University through education reform leveraging on new-age technology. With this MoU, Huawei is bringing its first Smart Campus to Malaysia after similar initiatives in emerging and developed markets including United Kingdom, America among others.

Xiamen University is a leading comprehensive university in China which was founded by Malaysian Chinese Tan Kah Kee in 1921. Now, 93 years later, Xia Men University has set up a campus in Malaysia, which is the first Chinese university to build an overseas branch. The campus is located in the vicinity of Bandar Kota Warisan in Malaysia’s Selangor State, just 15 minutes ride from the country’s administrative center of Putrajaya or 45 km southwest of Kuala Lumpur.
