424 telco towers in Sarawak to be upgraded

Upgrading works on 424 existing telecommunication towers in Sarawak to provide better 3G or LTE coverage are expected to be fully completed by year-end.
Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak said the upgrading process covered all 438 community WiFi coverage areas in the state.
“The government is studying a proposal to continue with community WiFi service by taking into consideration 3G service and coverage, as well as the other technical aspects.
“The government is implementing the upgrade of 3G broadband or LTE coverage which could give better speed compared to present community WiFi,” he said .
