Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo recently said that Fixed broadband prices in Malaysia are expected to drop by at least 25% by year’s end.
Here’s what to expect from Telekom Malaysia in the next quarter, after the 25% price reduction. Below pricing are estimated.
- Unifi 10Mbps- RM96.75/month (currently RM129/month)
- Unifi 30Mbps- RM134.25/month (currently RM179/month)
- Unifi 100Mbps- RM246.75/month (currently RM329/month)
- Streamyx Broadband 1Mbps- RM82.50/month (currently RM110/month)
- Streamyx Broadband 2Mbps- RM97.50/month (currently RM130/month)
- Streamyx Broadband 4Mbps- RM105/month (currently RM140/month)
- Streamyx Broadband 8Mbps- RM120/month (currently RM160/month)
Even after the price reduction, Streamyx 4Mbps still cost more than Unifi 10Mbps.
Telekom Malaysia’s broadband pricing does not make sense at all.
