Shopee achieves over 11 million 11.11 orders in 24 hours

Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, announces the success of Shopee 11.11 Big Sale. With overwhelming support from millions of users, Shopee broke last year’s record at 7:46AM (+8 GMT).

Across the region, more than 11 million orders was recorded on 11 November in 24 hours, around 4.5 times that of 2017. Total visits hit over 42 million as shoppers snapped up unbeatable deals across all categories. At its highest, over 58,000 items were sold in a single minute.

We have invested all our efforts and resources into ensuring the success of this sale for the sake of both buyers and sellers. Indeed, our efforts were not futile as we surpassed all previous achievements, and in record time. The sales performance is a reflection of the increasing adoption of 11.11 as the preferred year-end shopping sale in the region.”

Shopee 11.11 Big Sale performance in Malaysia

This year’s Shopee 11.11 Big Sale in Malaysia featured an upsized package of non-stop promotions and exclusive deals from Shopee’s brand and strategic partners.

On 11 November, top participating brands and sellers enjoyed up to 716 times increase in orders and an average of more than 750% increase in traffic. Health & Beauty, Mobile & Gadget and Home & Living emerged as the top three categories.

Highly sought after products included the flagship Realme 2 Pro, which debuted on Malaysian shores and was the best-selling smartphone for the day. Furthermore, Shopee retained its position as the leading platform for fashion and beauty products as Telekung Arafah Lace and Maybelline Lip Studio were among the top selling items on Shopee.

Mobile continues to drive online shopping forward

In line with the growth of mobile-commerce in the region, Shopee’s mobile-first strategy continued to be a key success factor for this year’s Shopee 11.11 Big Sale in Malaysia, with over 90% of orders made in-app.

In-app games continue to grow in popularity

Shopee’s iconic in-app game, Shopee Shake, continued to engage users throughout Shopee 11.11 Big Sale. Shopee Shake was played more than 4 million times in Malaysia.

To thank users for their continued support, Shopee will be holding a three-day 11.11 Thank You Sale happening from 12 to 14 November. Users will be treated to a final round of 11.11 deals and promotions.
