Cyberjaya Tech Hub Enabler, Cyberview Sdn Bhd through its wholly-owned subsidiary Futurise Sdn Bhd introduced collaborative programmes made available to interested innovators and creators in 2019, ahead of its official launch early next year. Together with its industry partners, the programmes are centred around the Future Economy agenda for Malaysia in which emphasis is put on the application of highly-disruptive technologies across three key areas: Smart City, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Robotics and Sustainable & Renewable Energy; against the backdrop of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Malaysia’s recently launched blueprint, Industry 4WRD.
“In the development of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) in Malaysia, Futurise in Cyberjaya is aimed at supporting corporate innovation and future-proofing goals across industries and positioning ourselves as a one-stop centre in the development of futuristic innovation ecosystems. We aspire to provide industry players a collaborative innovation platform to help tackle new business challenges and tap into emerging opportunities that can potentially reshape industries, reinvent current business models, and rethink solution innovation in the country through our four main programmes which are Ideas, Nucleus, Labs and Ventures,” said Mahadhir Aziz, the Acting Chief Executive Officer at Futurise Sdn Bhd.
The collaborative programmes are developed and designed together with industry partners such as Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC), Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MiGHT), Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI), Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) and Malaysia Robotics & Automation Society (MyRAS).
The event also saw highly-innovative demonstrations and showcase of AI/Robotics, Drone technologies, Mixed Reality technologies among others from technology partners like Microsoft and TrifoldX Sdn Bhd, eMooVit Technology Sdn Bhd, Poladrone Solutions Sdn Bhd, Robopreneur Sdn Bhd, Alpha Catalyst Consulting and RS & GIS Consultancy Sdn Bhd.
“Through the collaborative programmes, innovators will be able to work together with our strong and growing ecosystem of industry partners and visionary leaders in accelerating the development of their innovative solutions, be it in infrastructure support for Intellectual Property (IPs) development, prototyping or funding for novel technologies,” said Mahadhir.
As part of the Cyberjaya’s ecosystem, Futurise works as a centre for collaborative innovation, specifically the incubation of new ideas and solutions from innovators and creators in the development of futuristic innovation ecosystem in Malaysia. Positioned as a hub for corporations, universities and entrepreneurs to converge and develop future innovations, the centre will house research universities with the likes of Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Multimedia University and Swinburne University of Technology. The centre will house programmes such as the Futurise Labs which includes the Open Innovation Platform and the Regulatory Sandbox initiatives that reinforces Futurise’s focus on the three strategic aspects – innovation, regulations and commercialisation, in driving the Future Economy agenda for Malaysia.
“Through Futurise and its collaborative efforts to increase innovation and minimise the disruptive impact of innovation through collaborative design of both the regulatory and commercial framework with stakeholders, we hope to contribute to a positive momentum towards our broader national agenda to propel Malaysia into a high-income and developed nation, in helping to shape our future together,” he added.
