Maxis giving out free Unlimited SIM to Loyal Fibre Customers

Maxis appears to be giving away free trial unlimited sim cards to existing loyal fibre customers.

According to Joshua Wong of TheIdealMobile, he received 3 sim cards from Maxis recently. Joshua is currently subscribed to one of the Maxis Fibre plan but he is not a Maxis mobile customer.

The free trial sim cards comes with unlimited Internet, voice and SMS and will expire on 15 May 2019. To use it, it must be manually activated.

According to Maxis, After 15 May 2019:

  • If 1 MaxisONE Prime Trial SIM Card is active, the line will be migrated to MaxisONE Prime 98 and chargeable at RM98/mth;
  • If 2 MaxisONE Prime Trial SIM Cards are active, the 2 lines will be migrated to MaxisONE Prime 98 at RM98/mth and MaxisONE Share at RM48/mth respectively, with a RM48x6months rebate. That is an equivalent total monthly fee of RM98/2lines = RM49/mth per line for the first 6 months; or
  • If 3 MaxisONE Prime Trial SIM Cards are active, the line will be migrated to MaxisONE Prime128 at RM128/mth and the remaining 2 lines will be migrated to MaxisONE Share at RM48/mth with a RM48x6months rebate for each individual MaxisONE Share Lines. That is an equivalent total monthly fee of RM128/3lines = RM43/mth per line for the first 6 months.

Apparently those who take up this offer will get their Maxis Home Fibre contract renewed for 24-months.

Is this Trial SIM FREE?

How many Trial SIMs am I entitled to?

You should be receiving 3 Trial SIMs in the letter. Each Trial SIM gives you Unlimited Data, Calls & SMS for FREE until 15 May 2019. We encourage to get your family to try out and experience truly Unlimited Data on the No.1 4G network.

How long does this Trial SIM last?

This Trial SIM starts from the date you request activation until the Trial period ends on 15 May 2019.

What happens after 15 May 2019?

After 15 May 2019, you can choose to continue using the SIMs for as low as RM43/mth per line.

  • If you activate 1 SIM after 15 May 2019, you will continue at RM98/mth per line (MaxisONE Prime 98)
  • If you activate 2 SIMs after 15 May 2019, you will continue at RM49/mth per line (MaxisONE Prime 98 with MaxisONE Share FREE for 6 months)
  • If you activate all 3 SIMs after 15 May 2019, you will continue at RM43/mth per line (MaxisONE Prime 128 with 2x MaxisONE Share FREE for 6 months)

What if I choose not to continue after 15 May 2019?

If you decide not to continue using the Trial SIMs after 15 May 2019, you can call us to deactivate the SIM before the Trial period ends on 15 May 2019. There will be no charge to deactivate the SIMs.

How can I be entitled for this Trial SIM?

This Trial SIM is exclusive for existing Maxis Fibre customers who do not have a mobile service with us. As long as you are subscribed to Maxis Fibre and looking to subscribe to a new mobile service, you are entitled for this Trial SIM.

Does this Trial SIM come with a mobile number or MSISDN?

No, this Trial SIM is a blank SIM with no pre-defined mobile number. You can either choose a new mobile number or keep your existing number by switching over your existing number from other service provider to Maxis or move your existing Hotlink number to Maxis.

How do I activate this Trial SIM?

All you need to do is fill in the form with your IC number and a contactable mobile number, and we will call you back within 48 hours to validate and activate your Trial SIMs.

You can also contact us at 1-800-82-1220 and provide us with your IC and the SIM serial numbers that you have received and we can activate it for you. During the call, we will help you to select your mobile number or assist you to switch your number from your existing service provider to Maxis.

Do I need to activate all 3 Trial SIMs?

No. You can choose to activate only 1 or 2 of the Trial SIMs, depending on how many family members you have. Each Trial SIM comes with Unlimited Data, Calls & SMS for FREE until the trial period ends on 15 May 2019.

  • After 15th May:-
    If you have activated 1 Trial SIM, you will continue at RM98/mth per line (MaxisONE Prime 98)
  • If you have activated 2 Trial SIMs, you will continue at RM49/mth per line (MaxisONE Prime 98 with MaxisONE Share FREE for 6 months)
  • If you have activated all 3 Trial SIMs, you will continue at RM43/mth per line (MaxisONE Prime 128 with 2x MaxisONE Share FREE for 6 months)
    Can I activate additional SIM cards for this Trial?

You may activate up to 3 SIM cards only. However, after 15th May, you may add new MaxisONE Share lines.

Is there a fee to activate the Trial SIM?

No. There is no activation fee, deposit or any advance payment required. You can activate the Trial SIM for FREE

Does this Trial SIM come with any contract?

No. There is no contract to this Trial SIM. Should you decide to discontinue, you can call us at 123 to deactivate the SIM at no additional charge.

Can I purchase smartphones with this Trial SIM?

During the Trial period, you can purchase and sign-up a smartphone contract with this Trial SIM and we will change your plan to the standard MaxisONE Prime and MaxisONE Share (if any) and your MaxisONE Share Lines will enjoy the RM48x6months rebate immediately. Can I use this Trial SIM for outside of Malaysia?

This Trial SIM is only for domestic use only. Should you need to roam or make international calls, you can call us at 123 and we will change your plan you to the standard MaxisONE Prime and MaxisONE Share and you will be able to enjoy roaming for only RM38/day.
