HUAWEI is making the EMUI 9 available for older smartphone models from the HUAWEI Mate 9 and HUAWEI P10 Series which were released at the end of 2016, fulfilling its commitment to continuously upgrade and bring more value to Malaysian users. With the update to the EMUI 9 operating system, HUAWEI users across the globe can enjoy the ultimate user experience, emphasising the brand’s commitment in providing users with a smooth experience.
The EMUI 9 marks the second major version of upgrades for older models such as the HUAWEI Mate 9 and HUAWEI P10 Series since its launch. Users of previous generation smartphones can now enjoy the exceptional experience provided by the most up-to-date Huawei user interface.
In terms of user experience, configuration items in the EMUI 9 have been reduced by 10% in addition to allowing users of older models from the HUAWEI Mate 9 and HUAWEI P10 to enjoy a better user experience. The upgrade will bring consistent UI design, natural and immersive UX design, convenient one-hand operation, new gesture navigation, and an overall smoother experience.
The EMUI 9 is now available for all phone models listed below:
- HUAWEI Mate 9 Series (HUAWEI Mate 9, HUAWEI Mate 9 Pro)
- HUAWEI P10 Series (HUAWEI P10, HUAWEI P10 Pro)
If you have yet to upgrade your phone to the EMUI 9, instructions are available in your smartphones (Settings > Software Update). Alternatively, you can also sign up for the EMUI upgrade through Hicare (please note that the upgrade through Hicare is only available in certain countries and regions). Staff in HUAWEI retail stores and service centers are also able to provide upgrade support. Timings of push notifications for the new EMUI 9 upgrade will vary by country.
