The month of Syawal was made more joyful by Celcom Axiata Berhad as the telco celebrated Hari Raya Aildilfitri with 100 underprivileged children, and its corporate partners last month.

Held at Hilton Kuala Lumpur, children and the caretakers from Rumah Penyayang Darul Ilmi, Gombak were celebrated by the management team and employees of Celcom Axiata at the event. The children, who are orphaned, abandoned and from underprivileged families, were treated with a spread of scrumptious Hari Raya meals and delicacies.

Celcom’s special guests were entertained by two of Malaysia’s renowned personalities, Nabil Ahmad and Jihan Muse. Both Nabil and Jihan played hosts and made the occasion more cheerful for the Darul Ilmi children as they interacted with, and held dancing and singing competitions for, the children. Before leaving the event sated and with joyful grins, the children also received their duit raya from Celcom’s Management.

In a separate occasion held later in the afternoon, Celcom and Axiata Group Berhad hosted their corporate clients, business partners, media, and other stakeholders at the same location. Carrying the theme of ‘Famous Streets of Malaysia’, the event was attended by almost 1,000 people who indulged in an array of Malaysian specialities including Nasi Dagang, Satar and Keropok Lekor from Terengganu, Otak-otak from Johor and Penang Char Koey Tiow.

Celcom and Axiata were also honoured with the presence of Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Rina Harun, Minister of Rural Development and many other renowned leaders from both corporate and government.
