Microsoft Ready to Bring Back One of the Most Popular Windows 10 Features

People love tabs, there’s no doubt about that, but aside from the love that everyone seems to carry for this feature there’s something that’s a lot more important: productivity.

Tabs are a great way to improve usability and the way we work on our computers, and this is why users want them everywhere. Including in Windows 10, that is.

Microsoft knows this best, and the company wanted to bring tabs everywhere in Windows 10 with a feature called Sets. The development of Sets advanced at a really fast pace at one point, only that Microsoft decided it needed more fine-tuning and decided to pull it completely.

Sets was running on Microsoft Edge, and given that the company is now working on a new browser, rethinking the whole project just seemed to be the only way to go.

Coming in Windows 10 20H1

Now it looks like Microsoft is ready to bring Sets back, according to a finding of Microsoft watcher @h0x0d. If he’s right, Sets is part of Windows 10 build 19481, which means that sooner or later, the software giant is likely to include it in preview builds and let insiders try it out.

On the other hand, this is a sign that Microsoft wants to bring Sets back in Windows 10 20H1, which according to the current schedule, should go live in the spring of 2020. Of course, the feature will still need more refinements, but the company most likely hopes the testing would go smoothly in the Insider program.

For the time being, however, there’s no confirmation from Microsoft that Sets is coming back, albeit this is something that makes total sense.

Windows 10 20H1 preview builds are currently available for insiders in the Fast ring, so if you want to be ready to try out Sets, you know what you have to do.
