How Much Does It Cost to Replace an iPhone 11 Screen or Battery?

iPhones are generally referred to as premium smartphones, and the selling price is living proof this is entirely true. iPhone 11, for example, starts at $699 in the United States, while the even “more premium” iPhone 11 Pro is available from $999.

It goes without saying that a $1,000 device comes with pretty high servicing costs in case repairs are needed out of warranty (and this is one of the main reasons getting AppleCare+ might be a good idea), but when bad luck strikes, there’s no other way to go.

So how much does it cost to replace the screen of an iPhone 11? How expensive is an iPhone 11 Pro battery if I purchase it from the Apple Store?

I’m going to answer both these questions and a few more in the next few paragraphs.

First and foremost, it’s important to know that the prices listed here only concern repairs in the United States and are valid as long as no other repairs are required – so for example, if you go to an Apple Store to replace your battery but something else is broken and one can’t work without the other, you’ll have to cover the full servicing costs which includes all parts and operations.

There are Apple Stores that offer same-day screen repairs, and your best option is to just reach out to the staff to ask about how long it takes to replace your iPhone display. If you decide to mail the device to Apple, this could take about 9 days.

Unsurprisingly, the cost of replacing a shattered display increases with every iPhone generation, so the newer the smartphone, the more you have to pay. iPhone XS Max and iPhone 11 Pro Max come with the biggest price for a screen repair performed out of warranty, as a new display costs $329. iPhone XS, iPhone X, and iPhone 11 Pro owners are a bit luckier, as the screen repair is offered for $279. Replacing the broken screen on an iPhone XR or iPhone 11 is much cheaper at just $199.

With AppleCare+ coverage, customers must pay only $29 regardless of the iPhone model.

Things are much simpler when it comes to the battery replacement costs. When performed out of warranty, installing a new battery is available on the latest-generations iPhones for just $69.

With AppleCare+, the servicing is offered at no charge.

On the other hand, this is the part where you could end up paying more just because of other damages on your iPhone. For example, Apple says that a cracked screen could increase the battery replacement fee, and so could other damages to your iPhone that an Apple expert needs to evaluate in the store.

“If your iPhone has any damage that impairs the replacement of the battery, such as a cracked screen, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the battery replacement. In some cases, there may be a cost associated with the repair,” Apple says.

And of course, in the unfortunate event when something else breaks…
