Even with that 400-600$ laptop, they will eventually be updated with newer or latest components. NexDock don’t need that since there is no CPU or GPU inside. Even if you got a new phone, you have no need to buy a new NexDock and that is a big win for me.
With phones pretty much just using the same USB c connection they could save £s and I prove track pad by using the actual phone as track pad and also wouldn't have phone hanging off the end
