The ups don't they send a command to your servers to shut down? I thought that was the idea. Power gets cut. They keep the server running and issue command to save and shut down

ive never had an issue with a flat ethernet cable.
I also haven't ever tried to use one longer than ~12 feet. I wouldn't want to use it anywhere where durability would be an issue, but from a local switch to various devices in one room (or entertainment center) theyre fine.

that small thing isnt a patch cable, its just a bridge, it cant connect to anything else
