Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) said it was greatly honoured to receive the inaugural official working visit by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia Malaysia, YB Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah to TM Complex Cyberjaya – home to its Network Operations Centre (NOC), the heart of the nation’s network operations and its latest state-of-the-art data centre – the Klang Valley Core Data Centre (KVDC) which is operated by TM ONE, the enterprise and public sector business solutions arm of TM, in Cyberjaya recently.

The Minister and his delegates, which include Dato’ Suriani Dato’ Ahmad, Secretary General, Ministry of Communications and Multimedia, Dr. Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek, Chairman of Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) as well as Dato’ Mohd Ali Hanafiah Mohd Yunus, Chief Corporate Officer, MCMC were welcomed by Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Bakke Salleh, Chairman of TM, Dato’ Noor Kamarul Anuar Nuruddin, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM as well as TM senior management.

Commenting on the visit, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Bakke said, “TM is very honoured and excited to receive YB Dato’ Saifuddin and his delegates from the Ministry and MCMC to our TM ONE’s KVDC, the state-of-the-art data centre as well as TM NOC, the heart of the nation’s network operations. This engagement is even more meaningful as it not only marks an inaugural visit to TM’s premise for the Minister, but also for Dr. Fadhlullah who has been appointed as the Chairman of MCMC recently.”

“During this visit, we are able to enlighten the Minister on our core data centres that are purposely designed to fulfill the hosting, cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) requirements of business and enterprise customers, as well as the public sector, towards facilitating their digital transformation journey. We also explained to the Minister and his delegates on TM’s pivotal roles towards delivering seamless connectivity to all Malaysians through the NOC. It also provides YB Dato’ Saifuddin with an opportunity to engage and interact with our technical as well as network team members at both premises,” he added.

As part of the visit, there was a briefing session on TM’s overall operations and its strategic roles in fulfilling the communications needs of Malaysians nationwide across all customer segments. The delegates were then taken for a tour around the TM ONE KVDC and the TM NOC premise.

TM ONE KVDC, officially launched in April 2019, completes TM ONE’s Twin Core Data Centre after the launch of TM’s Iskandar Puteri Core Data Centre (IPDC) in Nusajaya Technology Park, Iskandar Puteri, Johor back in November 2017. The KVDC is a carrier-neutral and green data centre, that serves as a regional hub in providing high value managed services. These include cloud computing, virtualisation, workspace and collaboration services, as well as high-speed broadband connectivity to cater for enterprise and business customers particularly in Malaysia and the ASEAN region.

The KVDC is certified by the Uptime Institute as Tier III in design and in constructed facility, apart from being certified as Threat, Vulnerability and Risk Assessment (TVRA), ISO 27001 and Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliant. These certifications demonstrate TM ONE’s unparalleled service quality and uncompromised security standards.

Meanwhile, TM NOC which serves as the heart of the nation’s network operations, houses the centralised network monitoring systems for the telecommunications infrastructure nationwide and beyond the border.

“Being the nation’s telecommunications infrastructure provider and the enabler of Digital Malaysia, TM is committed to the National Connectivity and Fiberisation Plan (NFCP) and we look forward to working closely with YB Dato’ Saifuddin, the Ministry and MCMC in realising the Government’s aspiration with regards to the communications industry and services; particularly towards increasing reach and connectivity to all Malaysians, and in advancing the digital economy,” ended Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Bakke.
