Tune Protect Group Berhad (“Tune Protect” or “the Company”) takes the lead in advocating environmentally responsible actions with its latest Pay-As-You-Drive (PAYD) campaign. This is in line with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 13: Climate Action to combat climate change and its impacts. This special PAYD campaign rewards customers with 10 BIG points for every RM1 of insurance premium upon purchasing Motor Easy (comprehensive motor insurance) and opting in to PAYD* through the Company’s website or mobile application.

At Tune Protect, we wish to advocate and encourage responsible actions together with the community we operate in. With PAYD, car owners can save on his/her motor insurance premium and earn BIG points, while contributing to a cooler earth and sustainable future.”

Although greenhouse gas emissions are projected to drop about 6% in 2020 due to travel bans and economic slowdowns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, this improvement is only temporary. Once the global economy begins to recover from the pandemic, carbon emissions are expected to return to higher levels. With PAYD, Tune Protect hopes to inculcate new habits among Malaysian drivers that contribute to lowering greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere.

About PAYD

PAYD is an opt–in feature of Tune Protect`s Motor Easy Insurance that encourages and rewards low mileage vehicle owners with a refund of up to 20% of the basic insurance premium paid. It was introduced in August 2019 in support of a greener environment, helping reduce urban stress of commuting on roads, and to encourage the use of public transportation in easing road congestions in the country.

The launch of the campaign is also in line with the Company’s top sustainability material matters which are Customer Satisfaction and Digitisation. Customers, a key stakeholder of Tune Protect, can enjoy the ease and convenience of browsing, understanding and purchasing lifestyle insurance products including that of Motor insurance with PAYD benefit on the Tune Protect mobile application. In addition, customers can self-manage their insurance policies and submit claims digitally through the app, anytime, anywhere.

The launch of the campaign is in support of Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) move to creating awareness and building capabilities to managing climate-related risks within the financial industry.Sustainable businesses and communities can emerge stronger and better prepared for future challenges.

The month-long campaign runs from 1st to 31st October 2020 leading up to Sustainability Day on 28 October 2020, as well as is in conjunction with the recent Zero Emissions Day and World Car Free Day.
