A couple updates since we filmed this:
– Oculus has released the 90Hz update for the Quest 2
– Oculus Link is now out of beta, and also supports 90Hz on the Quest 2
– You can also now cast directly to a web browser

It is an interesting VR headset but because of shitty facebook I won`t buy it. I don`t need Zuckerbergs cameras and microphones in my room.

Absolutely do not buy an Oculus. If facebook decide for any reason to ban you, and it happens often for no reason at all, you cannot use the VR and you lose your purchases. They're a scumbag company.

Can you guys test wireless PCVR with virtual desktop? I have a Rift S and that feature is the thing that makes me want to buy a Quest 2.
The strap destroyed Linus's brows. The original strap is terrible, it gets painful after 30 minutes wearing it. Get a third party halo strap. The elite strap is breaking according to most users.
Not even VR will get me to use facebook. Nobody should use facebook, for any reason.
If it didn't squeeze my temples this is almost a complete pc replacement that uses almost 0 electric and gives you 3 browsing projection screens.

So, would this be an upgrade, sidegrade, or downgrade from the original Oculus Rift? On the one hand, this has standalone and sharper screen, on the other the original had better controllers, better headphones, and an oled screen. All of this is from a quick search.
I'll get something from Facebook the day I can easily rip their greedy fingers from every firmware, driver and software in said product without investing an year of work into it. Until then, hard pass.

So Apple is hot garbage (M1 is actually pretty good, but No sponsorship $$), but Quest 2 is great (The facebook account requirement and Bans makes this a non starter, but sponsorship $$). Linus is officially a sellout. Good job!

Facebook disabled my account for no apparent reason and they won't comply to EU GDPR laws. I won't buy this hardware because I'm not even allowed to use it. A friend of mine is kinda locked out of his oculus games.
2:25 Oh it definitely lives up to it, and does actually better than most PCVR headsets, but use Virtual Desktop, fully wireless PCVR

1:35 Again, not tethered, you can play Oculus and SteamVR games fully wirelessly via Virtual Desktop

You cannot buy it in Germany because Facebook is in a legal battle with the Bundeskartelamt, because of "The extent to which Facebook collects, merges and uses data in user accounts constitutes an abuse of a dominant position."

I like to use my VR in "pc mode" playing games like Assetto Corsa and Flight Sims, but i'm supprised how manny game developers dont get that some people would like to use it that way instead of standing and running accross the room.
