I still don't get it. It let's you log into streaming services you already have. But why not just watch on your phone or connect your laptop to the tv i want a smart tv that connects to all the streaming services without me making an account and just merges them so i can have all the shows

Please help me. I have this but I have an issue. In Netflix. Some things play wrong. Instead of a even letterbox I get a large black line at the bottom and a small one on top. Doesn't happen with everything. Specifically Poseidon it happened on today. Has it anything to do with 4k 60hz? Help anyone.

The new Chromecast that I brought last month was buggy. I had to return it. My first generation Chromecast still works great meanwhile the new Chromecast didn't work well as expected.
This thing is great. Loads videos super fast.
Needs a microsd slot for storage expansion.
Fire TV Does support casting it uses miracast but you have to go into mirroring mode on it every time you want to cast. But I don't use it because I am too lazy to find a workaround for Linux and my computer kept rejecting miracast when I had windows on it.

How well does the Google TV interface work with Canadian streaming services? Does it just default to showing the US streaming catalogues?
I'm testing it right now. Not good. Everything I used to love about the chromecast; quick setup, minimal software, no UI…its all gone now. It's trying to be a fire stick now. There is software that is not user friendly, not tested enough, just like many other Google services available. Should be in Beta or Alpha still. I feel like the pushed it out fir the holidays. Needs improvement, and no ethernet like the 4K? Google trying to be someone else. Even the cool screen saver sucks now, the device powers off on it's own after 10 minutes by default. Pretty disappointed with this one, and I went off your positive review here Linus. Price point isn't the only thing that matters. Chromecast is officially just like the others now. Dodgy and buggy user experiences.
