[Video] Nothing EVER Works!

Trying to make my old school garage door openers “smart” has left me with a multi-year-long nightmare of different solutions that never all worked properly.

  1. I don’t understand why you’re not just developing your own.

You have the resources, and the know how, and the following to promote it. You could make a pay once product, and sell it to the companies that provide door clickers so they weren’t user stuck with chamberlain.

  2. What's your experiencing is called hostage engineering and programming. If you think about it why do they need to change these policies they claim security but when you dig through the double speak what it really is, is forcing you to buy new gear corporate has learned to be fascist welcome to the evil corporate fascist Marxist bureaucracy it now plays a role in who is elected, who's accepted and who is discriminated against. there needs to be another revolution. The more we comply the more tyrannical they become.

Yes corporate world always had influence in who is elected and such But today they actual pull levers to make sure who their preferred choices gets in. All roads lead to China and the cobble. What their preferred scientific truths are accepted and if you dare to offer scientific facts that conflict with their preferred narrative your careers, companies, are attacked. We are not Free people any more we are pons and automatons in a game of thrones.

  3. just pro gamer move it and design and fabricate your own garage door opener then develop your own opening solution then program it to send spam mail to the garage door opener companies who have slighted you every time it opens

  4. It's a little thing, but when thanking parties at the end of a video where an open-source project solved a major problem, it'd be nice to thank the project maintainers who make it possible 🙂

  5. I used to be a fan of computer automation, but after seeing how technology can stop people from fixing things themselves, I no longer support this kind of remote control. I used to do a bit of Arduino and Rpi3 automation programming, but I now look for alternative methods to code driven switches and communication. Also, we need alternatives to the product you used. Something that diverts to support the rebuilding of our manufacturing sectors. I am told that our industries are now compromised by these products that dominate everything.

  7. Let's just talk about the fact that Linus has Christmas lights on the soffit of his house in the video. I guess 4 months of backlogged videos is how you stay alive right?

  8. If you wired your green ewelink relay box to a vehicle remote (yes, I have a "new" Chamberlain smart opener) it would have worked fine, that's what I did. My only peeve is that my phones Google doesn't hear me while being in the clip on my waist, and like linus said that it doesn't detect current status of open or closed, but there's supposedly a version that has an extra sensor for that.

  9. Most cars allow you to sync ur button to the car itself so you no longer need the button and the only way it’s a security risk is if they steal your car and know where you live, which at that point you have bigger problems
