[Video] Meshroom: 3D models from photos using free photogrammetry software

Meshroom turns photographs into 3D models using a process called photogrammetry. This video provides a couple of demonstrations, including clean-up of the final output in Meshmixer for render or 3D print.

Meshroom can be downloaded from the AliceVision website here:

  1. I have been fumbling my way through a number of modeling software packages. I have spent quite some time with Meshmixer and figured out how to do some things on my own, but you have really brought it all together for me and MADE SENSE of it! Thank you so much! I do have one question and problem, is there any way to use photos found online to create a 3D object? Specifically, I'm looking at miniaturizing some historical items for a convention in a few months. I would be thrilled if you could do a video on using online photos. Again, thank you so much!

  2. Double click the texture node and it'll load the textured mesh into Meshroom's 3D viewer. Hide the point cloud layer to make it easier to view.

  3. My father some times build artifacts for his tractor, some times he sell it a build again or build for another people, with this tools I can scan the final product without too much mess for future references. Thanks for the video.

  4. Awesome video and tutorial, thank you – I followed your steps and succeeded in my project. I subscribed to your channel long ago and enjoy your humor and presentations very much.
