HUAWEI Consumer Business Group (BG) launched two new productivity powerhouse laptops, HUAWEI MateBook D 16 and HUAWEI MateBook 16s at the HUAWEI APAC Smart Office Launch 2022 today.
The new HUAWEI MateBook D 16 is a high-performance lightweight laptop with a 16-inch vast display. This large screen, high performance new member of the HUAWEI Smart Office family not only carries MateBook series’ signature elements in aesthetic, innovation, and smart experience, but also brings numerous advancements, including a brand-new eye-comfort HUAWEI FullView Display, high-performance 12th Gen Intel® Core™ H-Series Processor, a light metallic body, as well as cross-device collaborative experience. The new HUAWEI MateBook D 16 has transformed into a reliable companion for the hybrid office era as it unleashes users’ creative power.

What’s more, users can be productive on the move thanks to the HUAWEI MateBook D 16‘s high portability and its light metallic body of weighing similar as a 15.6-inch laptop at just 1.7kg.

The HUAWEI MateBook D 16 is powered by the 12th Gen Intel® Core™ H- Series Processor that runs on up to -i7-12700H, a TDP of up to 40W, dual channel RAM and a high-speed solid-state drive, which handles multi-tasking and complex usage scenarios flawlessly and efficiently, such as data analysis, code compilation, opening multiple webpages, charts, or PowerPoints.
Despite this high performance, users need not worry about overheating issues even when tackling intensive tasks, thanks to the HUAWEI Shark fin Fan cooling system. Allowing users to freely switch between Standard Mode and Performance Mode, the HUAWEI MateBook D 16 unleashes its full potential to meet the various needs of heavy office workload and content creation.
The powerful performance is not only driven by the HUAWEI MateBook D 16′s processing power. This laptop is a networking beast too, thanks to the innovative HUAWEI Metaline Antenna technology, which allows users to enjoy stable wireless networks. Even under weak Wi-Fi signals, the downloading speed is increased by 55%, while the lag in gaming and video conference are decreased by 57% and 67% respectively when compared to its predecessors.
Also, unusually for a lightweight laptop, the HUAWEI MateBook D 16 has 1.5mm key travel and soft-landing design – inspired by space probes – to make all-day typing easy. The new individual numeric keypad enables users to work with charts, data, and documents more efficiently, while the physical shortcut keys allow direct access of frequently used functions for higher productivity.

Meanwhile, HUAWEI MateBook 16s is powered by the 12th Gen Intel® Core™ Processor, which consists of up to i7-12700H, and comes with 14 cores and 20 threads with a max, and turbo frequency of up to 5G Hz. When it comes to graphics, the HUAWEI MateBook 16s uses the Intel Iris® Xe Graphics to provide outstanding graphic processing capabilities. Ideal for graphic designers, photo and video editors, as well as gamers. The HUAWEI MateBook 16s will help with graphic-intensive tasks easily and smoothly.
Continuing HUAWEI’s classic design, the MateBook 16s’ bezels range from only 5.2mm to 7.3mm, ensuring that the screen-to-body ratio is up to 90%. Not only is there a high screen-to-body ratio, but also features a more productive 3:2 aspect ratio to enable users to have a greater viewing experience. Compared with the same 16-inch display on a more economical 16:9 aspect ratio, the HUAWEI MateBook 16s offers users a more display area to be more productive.
As a laptop designed for professionals, the HUAWEI MateBook 16s comes with a comfortable, specifically tailored keyboard. Looking at both key travel and tactility, HUAWEI’s keyboard designers have worked with the 2012 Lab to improve both aspects. The engineering collaboration has led to the introduction of the Soft-landing design for the keys where there is a cushion for the switches as they are being pressed, slowing them down before they land. This helps to maintain a quality and comfortable typing experience for long periods of time.
