Customers of GoPayz, the universal e-wallet developed by U Mobile, may now pay their zakat obligation to Lembaga Zakat Selangor (LZS) via the GoPayz app and web. GoPayz is the first e-wallet in Malaysia to offer this service and with this new service GoPayz customers will now be able to fulfil their zakat obligation such as Zakat Pendapatan, Zakat Perniagaan, Zakat Simpanan, Zakat Saham, Zakat KWSP, Zakat Emas, Zakat Perak, Qadha Zakat, Zakat Fitrah and Zakat Harta (lump sum payment) to LZS conveniently via the app or web.
Group CEO of U Mobile Group, Wong Heang Tuck shared that the provision of zakat fulfilment is in line with GoPayz’s goal to be more than just an e-wallet, but also a platform that provides its customers with accessible digital financial and lifestyle services. “We are delighted to be officially appointed by Lembaga Zakat Selangor as the first e-wallet in the country to be a zakat collection agent and we are honoured to have the opportunity to facilitate GoPayz’s customers’ annual zakat obligation in a safe and secured digital ecosystem, anytime and anywhere. To fulfil their zakat obligation, customers need only follow these steps:
- Log in to GoPayz app or website (www.gopayz.com.my)
- Click on Services > Islamic > Zakat > Lembaga Zakat Selangor
- Fill up the requested details
- You will be redirected to the “Lafaz Niat Bayar Zakat” page, please click “Terus Bayaran”
- Choose payment mode to complete transaction
