B40 households and people with disabilities who have not received the free MyFreeview decoders are encouraged to register their interest through dedicated channels prepared from now until this coming 31 May.
In the spirit of giving during this festive season, they may indicate their interest to receive the myFreeview decoder by filling up a form at www.mytvbroadcasting.my/B40 with their complete personal details including name, identity card number, full address and telephone number or by contacting the MYTV Careline at 1800-18-1088/1-300-80-6988 to facilitate the distribution process of free myFreeview decoders to eligible recipients.
Those who have yet to receive their free decoders may also check on their eligibility through the two methods mentioned above. Registration received after the end date of 31 May 2020 will not be processed.
The initiative to provide additional free myFreeview decoders would ensure that no one will be left behind in getting easy access to information as well as entertainment through the free and high quality digital TV broadcast. The government, through the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), has allocated an additional 300,000 decoders for B40 households and people with disabilities nationwide.
This is in addition to the two (2) million free decoders previously provided by MYTV. The cost of these decoders are fully borne by the government. After the 31 May 2020 closing date, registrations filed by B40 households and people with disabilities will be reviewed for eligibility and delivery of decoders using courier services will start throughout the country from June onwards. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, on ground deliveries to groups will only be considered upon receiving permission from relevant authorities.
MyFreeview offers digital TV, without monthly subscription fees, featuring 15 high-definition (HD) channels and six (6) radio channels. Besides offering information and entertainment, myFreeview channels also provide TV home shopping opportunities for both viewers and merchants.
